We are seeking dedicated individuals who are eager to contribute to the continuous development of our rescue rover, designed for disaster response and emergency operations. We are excited to form a new core team for upcoming competitions and challenges in 2026. TEAM REQUIREMENTS

Mechanical Sub-Team

3D-Design:

  • SolidWorks
  • Fusion 360
  • Blender3D

Fabrication:

  • Basic mechanical knowledge (materials/instruments) is preferred.
  • Understanding of different materials (metals, plastics, composites) and their properties.
  • Skill in using various measuring instruments and tools.
  • Familiarity with different mechanical tools.

Software & Autonomous Sub-Team

  • Previous experience with projects (not required but a plus).
  • Experience in image processing, specifically object detection and segmentation using ML/DL.
  • Preliminary knowledge of basic processing units and sensors.
  • Technical content and report writing skills.
  • ROS (Robot Operating System) knowledge
  • Python/C++ programming experience

Electrical Sub-Team

  • Circuit and PCB design.
  • Circuit development.
  • Coding in microcontrollers / microprocessors (Arduino, STM32, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, Platform IO, MicroPython, etc.).
  • Knowledge in basic electronics.
  • Module design.
  • Power system management

Aerial & Communication Sub-Team

  • Previous experience with drones (not required but a plus).
  • Knowledge in networking, specifically remote operation, communication protocols, and telemetry.
  • Preliminary knowledge of basic sensors and radio modules.
  • Technical content and report writing skills.
  • Radio frequency (RF) systems knowledge

Media and Public Relations Sub-Team

  • Students from Media Studies and Journalism departments are encouraged to apply.
  • Content writing capabilities.
  • Content creation skills (cinematography, graphic design, voice artistry, video editing).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Social media management
  • Documentation

Logistics

  • BBA students are encouraged to apply.
  • Event planning and management
  • Budget management skills
  • Procurement and supply chain knowledge
  • Sponsorship acquisition

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who can apply?

All current UIU students from any department are welcome to apply. No prior robotics experience is required for some positions.

What is the selection process?

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews within 2 weeks of application.

Is there any commitment required?

Selected members are expected to commit 8-12 hours per week during the semester, with flexible scheduling.

Will I receive any training?

Yes! We provide comprehensive training sessions, workshops, and mentorship for all new members.
